Our Car Driving Course provides comprehensive instruction to help individuals obtain a UAE Driving License under category 3, allowing them to drive standard passenger cars safely and competently on the road. Our program covers essential topics, including traffic laws, driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, and defensive driving strategies, through both theoretical and practical training. Our instructors provide personalized attention and guidance to instill confidence and develop necessary abilities to navigate various driving conditions and situations.


Age requirement: 18 years. Individuals who are 17.5 years old may also apply However, the license can only be issued after passing all the required tests and after turning 18 years old.

Documents required:

To complete the RTA file opening for a driving license, the following documents are required:
  1. Original Emirates ID
  2. Eye test report (conducted before RTA file opening). The Drive Dubai head office in DIP offers eye test facilities, or you can obtain the report from any RTA-approved eye test center in Dubai.
4. Original driving license from other countries within the same vehicle category (if applicable):
a. The driving license's hologram must be visible.
b. Valid and expired driving licenses, which are less than ten years old, are acceptable.
c. If your driving license is not in English or Arabic, you must obtain a legal translation of your riding license from a legal translation typing office in Dubai.
d. In the case of a lost driving license, obtain a letter from the consulate of your country.
*Note: RTA approval is required for foreign driving licenses. If the RTA rejects the license, obtain a letter from your embassy.

Female Students (younger than 21 years) must take present an NOC for training with male trainer
File transfer from other institutes within Dubai or other-emirates:
  1. Original RTA file from the previous driving institute or driving schools. 
  2. Clearance letter from the previous driving institute or driving schools signed and stamped by an authorized signatory.

Theory Test

Theory Test, the third step in your learning process, as the name suggests this test consist of theory questions based on real life instances and/or road and traffic signs. DriveDubai provides Mock Test, Practice Theory Test Lecture and Set of MCQs for our students to reach fluency in understanding and answering the theory test questions

Key Points:
  1. Total questions asked: 40
  2. Minimum correct answers required to pass: 30
  3. Topics upon which the questions are based: Road user information, Traffic signs, Traffic laws, Fog, Flood, Mobile phone, unacceptable driving behavior, role model behavior, learning to drive, managing risk, road user safety, rules and responsibilities and Hazard perception videos.

A student may advance to practical training after passing theory test.

Practical Lessons

Practical Training is the fourth and most vital element of your training process, which consists of practical training sessions conducted by RTA, approved instructors for the number of hours reflected by your driving history.

Key Points:
  1. Number of Practical lessons may vary depending on your past driving experience for instance having 2 years old driving license from any other will earn you a reduction of 5 hours likewise having 5 years driving license will earn you a reduction of 10 hours from RTA given that; the license must be in English or Arabic and duly attested by the concerned authorities.

Assessment Test

Assessment test is the sixth step in your learning process, this test determines whether a student is eligible to appear for the RTA road test or not.

  1. Assessment test is taken by internal examiners
  2. In order to appear for the assessment test a student must pass the parking test, clear all dues and attend the required hours of training deferring from course to course:

(For 20 hours course 16 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 15 hours course 13 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 10 hours course 8 hours to be taken before assessment test)

After passing the assessment test student will advance to Highway and night training before he/she can appear for the final road test.

Parking Test

Parking test is the fifth step in your leaning process; it is a test which aims to examine the parking abilities of a student considering the main 5 types of parking namely:

  1. Parallel Parking
  2. Garage Parking
  3. Slope
  4. Emergency
  5. Angle Parking

a.Parking test is taken by RTA examiners

b.In order to appear for the parking test a student must:

  1. Attend all lectures
  2. Pass the theory test
  3. Pay the required fee
  4. Attend the required hours of training.

(For 20 hours course 12 hours to be taken before parking test)

(For 15 hours course 10 hours to be taken before parking test)

(For 10 hours course 6 hours to be taken before parking test)

After passing the parking test the student will advance for further classes depending on the result

Road Test

Road Test is the seventh step in your learning process and the last step before getting your hands on your UAE driving license.

Key Points:

a.Road test will be taken by RTA examiners after completion of Highway and night training (for Females only highway training).

b.In order to appear for road test the following has to be kept under consideration

  1. All fee paid
  2. All reuqired hours of trainng taken
  3. All previous test passed
  4. Learning permit must be valid
  5. RTA file must be valid

(For 20 hours course 16 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 15 hours course 13 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 10 hours course 8 hours to be taken before assessment test)

After passing the assessment test student will advance to Highway and night training before he/she can appear for the final road test.

c.Driving License will be issued upon passing the road test on the same day.

d.Student must carry their original Emirates ID at the time of license issuance
