Service  Overview

Our Car Driving Course provides comprehensive instruction to help individuals obtain a UAE Driving License under category 3, allowing them to drive standard passenger cars safely and competently on the road. Our program covers essential topics, including traffic laws, driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, and defensive driving strategies, through both theoretical and practical training. Our instructors provide personalized attention and guidance to instill confidence and develop necessary abilities to navigate various driving conditions and situations.

 

Eligibility

 
Individual customers, citizens and residents in Dubai, who are above the legal age and medically fit, are eligible to apply for this service.
The customer can open a traffic file after reaching the legal age of 17 years and 6 months. The licence is issued after he passes all the required tests and turns 18.

 

- Required documents

 

  1. Original Emirates ID

 

For residents with visas issued in the other emirates, one of the following
 Copy of the tenancy agreement approved by ejari or copy of the Title Deed as a proof of residence. OR,
 Copy of the company's trade licence (Dubai branch and the branch that issued the residency). Letter from the company certifying that the customer works in Dubai

  1. Please note, the customer must not have a driving licence from another emirate. If available, the customer will have to transfer his license to Dubai.

 
For diplomats

 

  1. Copy of the diplomatic passport

  2. Original Emirates ID, if any

  3. A copy of the valid diplomatic card for embassies, consulates and international organisations instead of the Emirates ID

  4. A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission.



For People of Determination

 

  1. Copy of the certificate of transfer to the doctor issued by the Licensing Agency

  2. Note: The customer should refer to Rashid Hospital for the medical test.
     


For the Emirati passport holder who is without a family book (Marsoom holders)

 

  1. Copy of the valid passport

  2. Copy of the valid Marsoom
     


For the Emirati passport holder who is the son of an Emirati woman

 

  1. Copy of the valid passport

  2. Valid letter from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs stating that the customer's mother is Emirati


 

- Terms and conditions for providing the service.

 

  • The customer must be present in person.

  • The customer must be medically fit.

  • Driving Licence categories available for POD are determined based on the medical report.

  • The customer agrees to the terms and conditions when signing the training agreement and submitting the application through the DLS system.

  • The customer must pass all the required tests to obtain the driving licence.

  • Once the customer passes the Road test, he receives a temporary licence valid for 7 days through email.

Conditions related to the Eye Test : -

 

  • The customer must pass the eye test according to the requested category at an eye test centre accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and authorised by RTA.

  • The eye test is valid for 3 years.

Students must attend 8 theory lectures before booking the RTA theory test. The lectures can be attended online in English, Urdu or Arabic. 
Drive Dubai also offers the facility to attend the e-Lectures at our head office in DIP.

RTA's Remote Interpretation System (RIS)

How to avail the RIS service?
As per RTA guidelines, students have to submit an application for appointing an interpreter in the preferred language at the time of opening RTA file and pay the applicable fees.

Fees: An additional fee of AED 435 is applicable besides the RTA Knowledge test fees.

Practical Lessons

Practical Training is the fourth and most crucial element of your training process, consisting of practical sessions conducted by RTA-approved instructors. The number of hours required for these sessions is determined by your driving history.
Key Points:


Attend the 20 Hours course provided by our car driving school and you’ll be ready to appear for the RTA test for a UAE driving license. 
Got some skills? Have a car driving license :
Valid license from home country existing between 2 – 5 years = 15 Hours course**
Valid license from home country older than 5 years = 10 Hours course**
Valid or expired for less than 10 years license from any exception countries = Appear directly for the RTA tests 

**If you are a student holding a driving license from another country eligible for reduced classes to acquire a car license Dubai, you must attend a Pre-Evaluation Test examined by us. You can book this through our call Centre or by visiting us.

On Road Assessment Test

Assessment test is the fifth  step in your learning process, this test determines whether a student is eligible to appear for the RTA road test or not.

Key Points:
  1. Assessment test is taken by internal examiners
  2. In order to appear for the assessment test a student must pass the parking test, clear all dues and attend the required hours of training deferring from course to course:

(For 20 hours course 16 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 15 hours course 13 hours to be taken before assessment test)

(For 10 hours course 8 hours to be taken before assessment test)

After passing on road assessment , student will advance to yard training.

Internal Yard Assessment

Yard test is the sixth step in your leaning process; it is a test which aims to examine the parking abilities of a student considering the main 5 types of parking namely:

  1. Parallel Parking
  2. Garage Parking
  3. Slope
  4. Emergency
  5. Angle Parking

a.Yard test is taken by School examiners

b.In order to appear for the Yard test a student must:

  1. Attend all lectures
  2. Pass the theory test
  3. Pay the required fee
  4. Attend the required hours of training.

After passing the parking test the student will advance for further classes depending on the result

RTA internal yard test

RTA yard test is the seventh step in your learning process and the last step before getting your hands on your UAE driving license.

b.In order to appear for the Yard test a student must:

After passing the parking test the student will advance for further classes depending on the result

Road Test

Road Test is the Final step in your learning process and the last step before getting your hands on your UAE driving license.

Key Points:

a.Road test will be taken by RTA examiners after completion of Highway and night training (for Females only highway training).

b.In order to appear for road test the following has to be kept under consideration

  1. All fee paid
  2. All reuqired hours of trainng taken
  3. All previous test passed
  4. Learning permit must be valid
  5. RTA file must be valid

c.Driving License will be issued upon passing the road test on the same day.

d.Student must carry their original Emirates ID at the time of license issuance
